Ben as he is known to friends and patrons alike, is the heart and soul of the restaurant, driving the culinary experience with a vision and passion for excellence. His charisma and youth has brought a whole new era in dining at the Black Horse. If you haven't been to the Black Horse lately, then you owe it to yourself to discover one of Lancaster County's best chefs, Benjamin Ash.

Chef Benjamin Ash is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After schooling, Ash worked at American Seasons on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts and Le Bec Fin, rated in the top 40 restaurants in the US by Gayot. At Le Bec Fin, he met his mentor, Greg Gable, whom Ash followed to Lancaster County. Ash mentored under Greg Gable for the next five years. From a snack off our light fare menu to a multi-course dinner, Chef Ash takes pride in preparing food for his Black Horse customers.
